Auptim Physical Cell Identity rApp (rPCI)
PCI is an identifier for 4G and 5G cells that is a short address for UEs to uniquely distinguish cells in a particular ARFCN for mobility management. AirHop Auptim rPCI provides automated detection of PCI collisions, PCI confusions and automated conflict free resolution of the PCI address. UEs connected to the network, use PCI to locate and descramble the control channel messages for cell signals the UE receives. When there is a PCI conflict, there can be a failure, a delay and more overhead in receiving the control channel messages. Pre-specification R1 interface was used in some aspects as the specifications were not finalised when the testing was taking place. See the Project Report for more details.
